How much does it cost to called Volkswagen roadside assistance if you are not under warranty?

My car's battery is dead. It's my first time to call for roadside assistance. My car is from 2000. I assume it's not under warranty anymore. Can I still use roadside assistance and how much would it cost? Is it cheaper than AAA services?
